Timmy Tells It Straight

So it's been months and months since I've posted here. Yes, I am slack. I admit that. But let's be honest. Most of what I would post on here I post on a daily basis on Facebook and Twitter. In 140 characters or less in most cases. It's just easier. However, I think it's time for me to unload some thoughts for real. So here goes.

Dan Cathy made some statement about supporting the "biblical definition" of marriage. And now my fellow homos are up in arms about it. Boycotts, kiss-ins, and and an all out call for Cathy's head on a stick have ensued. Which to me is simply ridiculous.

Here's the thing. While I detest the principles that Cathy stands for, who am I to dictate what he believes in? If I did that, I would be no better than he is. There are those who say that by continuing to eat at Chick-Fil-A (which I will do on a monthly basis as usual) that I am supporting his beliefs. Pshaw! What I am supporting is a damn good chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I grew up on the stuff. No matter what you may think, you can't deny the yummy goodness that is enveloped in that foil-lined package. Bite into it and I dare you not have a mouth orgasm. My lack of joy at what Dan Cathy said won't be over-ridden by the craving I have for that. End of story.

And another thing. I've been seeing where people are "unfriending" people on FaceBook because they refuse to stop eating at Chick-Fil-A. Really? Just because someone doesn't share your opinion or belief? You are going to use that as a basis for your friendship? If that's the case, I say go ahead and unfriend me. Because if you are able to that easily dismiss our friendship then you were never a friend to begin with. You are nothing more to me than a self-obsessed fool. There are lots of companies out there that support causes that you are against. Some of you work for them. Unless you plan on researching every purchase you make and making an "informed decision", you need to take a chill pill, biddy. Most of the fools that were calling for a boycott of Target stores a few years back still shop there. Tell me you don't and I'll call you a liar. I've seen your posts.

This is America. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc, etc, etc. If you don't like it, get over it. Or move. Now if anyone needs me, I'll be going to feed my craving. They're closed tomorrow!
